Mid-Prairie Dollars for Scholars

The Mid-Prairie Community School District is the fifth largest geographic district in the state of Iowa covering 215 square miles. Mid-Prairie has two elementary sites which are MP-East in Kalona (Preschool, Kindergarten, first and second grade) and MP-West in Wellman (Preschool, Kindergarten, third and fourth grade). The two elementary schools come together at our Mid-Prairie Middle School which serves grades 5-8 and is located in Kalona. Mid-Prairie High School has students in grade 9-12 and is located on the east edge of Wellman.  Mid-Prairie is in close proximity to the larger communities of Iowa City and Coralville. Our location offers the rich heritage and tradition of our farming communities, including the "Old Order Amish", and endless opportunities to experience a variety of performing arts, cultural and historic attractions, and the thrill of Big Ten Athletics.

Approximately 1200 students in preschool through 12th grade attend our two elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and one alternative high school, with an average class size of 24 students.

It is our goal to have adequate resources so that all future Mid-Prairie graduates receive some support from Mid-Prairie Dollars for Scholars. This is a tangible way of showing all Mid-Prairie students that we value their education and future.
